Of course, when developing a project for a game jam, there's going to be tons of ideas, most of them will not make it to the finish line. Let's go through this in an organized manner!
Airship
When we were making the game, mechanically, we were going to have the player defend an airship from enemy aircraft from all sides. This airship would have been a way for the player to land their aircraft for repairs, and also encourage the RTS gameplay rather than hoard usage to one plane.
Here's what the model would have looked like, minus mounted propellers:
DAS PANZERWAFTEN!!!!
A hilarious item I wanted to add, as a sort of bulky enemy where the player is encouraged to fly around the tank to deal damage. I modeled this with 2 components in mind, the canon and the body.
We also had planned dialogue to come alongside the introduction of this enemy vehicle. Speaking of which...
Dialogue and HUD
There was more to be desired for the HUD. I wanted to design some nixie tubes to handle the score counter, and a radar since there were plans to have the playing field be far larger in mind for the airship.
What did get to be made were these:
These were made to go in conjunction with the following cut dialogue:
Germans (the one on the right): "sieh unsere Macht!"
"Das Panzerwaften wird den Himmel beherrschen!"
Ally (the one on the left): "P- Panzerwaften???"
"What kind of [russian cuss word] name is that?!"
*shot fires, tank plane comes flying in*
Airship: "They made an Antonov work?!"
Ally: "Evasive maneuvers!"
Other cut content
Mostly stuff I was considering doing but never worked on because the jam ended:
Blohm & Voss BV 141
Horten Ho 229 (I would have written some dialogue about it being a UFO)
Zveno-SPB (as an excuse for a kill-one-and-now-there's-a-swarm, germans prob would have stolen this tech too)
Fieseler Fi-103R
Stipa Caproni (Prob would have not been included no matter what but it is so hilariously stupid that I would have made it regardless)
Caproni CA 60 (Would have been a boss plane I think)
Bachem Ba-349 Natter
Hafner Rotabuggy (This was a US invention, but I mean, c'mon, it would be a hilarious thing to fight)
Who knows, maybe some of this cut content will see its inclusion in an update? Only time will tell...
